Trial of the Heart - Logline

Emily Hennas has the power to ease a man's suffering - the man responsible for murdering her family. Left alone to raise her youngest son, she faces the most difficult decision of her life: keep fighting for the justice her family deserves, or forgive the man, Conway Duke, for causing their deaths.

  1. Who was murdered? At first I assumed her husband and children, that she was the only one left living in her family but then you mention a son. Why did Conway murder her family? I don't think his name needs to be in the logline.

I think this could be combined into one sentence - Left alone to raise her youngest son, Emily Hennas faces a most difficult decision: keep fighting for the justice the memory of her family deserves or forgive their murderer.

Or something along those lines. Love the title! Good luck.

  2. Talk about a heart wrenching novel! Nicole's advice is awesome. I would start off with more of why we should care for Emily - tell us her family was murdered and maybe how (if its relevant). Then show us the choice she has to make.

Good luck and thanks for joining!

  3. I like this, but it leaves me wondering about the circumstances of the murder. Was is accidental, such as a car wreck, or did he intentionally murder them? If intentional, was it an assassination or the work of a psychopath? I think giving us a little info here would add to the intrigue.
